The current way of inspecting core wires ground by a state of the art profile grinder I built (see project) used expensive rolls of consumable thermal graph paper and was a slow manual inspection process. The aim of this project was to switch to a laser measuring system which would be paperless and allow automatic profile checking using custom written software.
